Colonial Beach Appoints New Town Manager |

| The Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Colonial Beach are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Natasha Tucker as its new Town Manager. Ms. Tucker, currently serving as the Interim Town Manager, was hired as the Assistant Town Manager in May of 2023. Ms. Tucker is a U.S. Army veteran and served in multiple legal, financial, consultant and local government roles prior to joining the Town Manager’s staff. Natasha’s depth of experience and education allowed her to quickly assume additional duties as she served as Acting Town Manager between August and October of 2023. Mayor Robin Schick expressed her pleasure at filling the Town Manager position through a smooth transition process during which Council worked with Ms. Tucker as the Interim Town Manager and completed an in-depth interview and background check. |

Colonial Beach Appoints Les Parsons as Chief of Police |
|
| With more than 23 years of experience and expertise in law enforcement, Chief Parsons began his sworn police service as a police officer in Southern California in 1999, where he served as patrol and detective, as well as in community policing bureaus coordinating and managing community programs such as: Police Explorers, Neighborhood Watch, RACES (Emergency Communications), and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).Through the years, he has partnered with local faith organizations on a Christmas Toy Drive and participated with local businesses on “Operation Christmas Cheer.” Parsons has also developed and managed CBVA’s Neighborhood Watch Program and the Police Explorer Program for local youth. As Chief, Parsons pledges to continue to work diligently to grow and strengthen the partnership between the Police Department and the Colonial Beach community. |

Colonial Beach’s New Dual Approach to Wastewater Management | | In March, the Town of Colonial Beach Teamed up with Inboden Environmental Services to manage the Town’s wastewater treatment plant for the next three years. Inboden Environmental Services, Inc.(IES), is a utility management company all about top-notch environmental services. They have been serving communities like Colonial Beach since 1993 and are certified as a Small Business, Women, and Minority-owned company. A Few Reminders… | | Attention all beach lovers and adventure seekers as the warm breeze of Spring approaches, Colonial Beach is gearing up for its most vibrant season yet. From April 1st through September 30th, our Town Awakens from its winter slumber. With the excitement of high season comes a few important reminders: Parking rates are in force so be sure to plan ahead. Residents whose vehicles are registered through personal taxes can still park free even during this busy time. Dogs are no longer permitted on the public beach.

Virginia Osprey Festival |

| Exciting news for nature enthusiasts and bird lovers! Join us at the main area, Town Hill, located at the corner of Washington and Colonial Avenues in Colonial Beach, for a day filled with exploration and discovery! Hosted by the Virginia Osprey Foundation, this event is a celebration of our feathered friends and the environment. You won't want to miss out on the dozens of vendors and presenters showcasing their expertise and products! Plus, we're thrilled to welcome keynote speaker Dr. Paul Spitzer, along with representatives from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources! | Bring your own kite to fly high above the beautiful beach, or simply come and watch as others showcase their unique and colorful creations! Make a kite in the kids' area during Saturday's Osprey Festival and bring it back on Sunday for Osprey Kite Day. It's a perfect opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Potomac River, spend quality time with family and friends, and experience the joy of kite flying! |

This incredible event is brought to you by the dedicated members of the Colonial Beach High School National Honor Society as a community service initiative. Join us for a day filled with tail-wagging fun! Two dozen high school students will be there to pamper your pets with pet grooming sessions, interactive training sessions, an exciting obstacle course, and plenty of doggy social time! |
