| From the Town Manager’s Desk:
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It’s that wonderful time of year again in Colonial Beach — the season we all look forward to! Our official season runs from April 1 through September 30, with the heart of the fun in June, July, and August.
These are the months when students and teachers celebrate the end of the school year, grandparents make special memories with grandkids, and families come together to enjoy swimsuits, sunshine, and maybe a little too much ice cream (if there is such a thing!).
We’re truly fortunate to live in a place that others dream about all year. While many folks work hard for 50 weeks just to spend two here, we get to call this beautiful beach town home.
As the season unfolds, let’s welcome our visitors with warmth and kindness, and share the joy of Colonial Beach with everyone who comes to savor our little slice of paradise.
We’re off to an amazing start!
Wishing you all a safe, sunny, and special season ahead,
Natasha Tucker, MBA/JD Town Manager Town of Colonial Beach |

Hello!
My name is Kyler Brower, and I'm honored to step into the role of Assistant Town Manager here in Colonial Beach. After making the move from Utah, I’m excited for this new chapter and the opportunity to serve this beautiful town.
I’m passionate about finding ways to make local government more effective, responsive, and connected to the people it serves. As I settle in, I’m eager to explore the town, meet new faces, and integrate myself into the community, so if you see me around, please don’t hesitate to say hi!

| May 2025 in Economic Development
May is Historic Preservation Month when we celebrate our American heritage through historic places. Across the country, public and private entities promote a variety of activities on the local, state, and national levels. Whether touring historical sites, helping to preserve history in Colonial Beach, or sharing generational objects and stories with family, there is something for everyone during Historic Preservation Month in May.
Westmoreland County, part of the Northern Neck National Heritage Area, has some of the deepest, richest history in our nation and is considered the "Birthplace of Presidents." The Town of Colonial Beach - while just over 100 years old - has a more contemporary history, having grown from a charming mid-Atlantic coastal vacation destination to the lively, colorful "Playground on the Potomac" - all while honoring its past. Peeling back layers of time helps us to identify the connections of that past to the more connected future we're building.
So this month, take time to visit an historic site, watch a movie showcasing our unique history, interview your older relatives and record their stories, or simply walk down the streets of your hometown and reflect on the changes you've seen just in your lifetime. Here in Colonial Beach, we have a unique blend of maritime heritage and agricultural traditions wrapped up in an attitude of independence. We exhibit a "Persistence of Place" — since the earliest days of discovery by Captain John Smith to the Oyster Wars all the way to the present — this is our land, our legacy. Let's celebrate it! |
