hometown

This form will enter your nomination into a lottery for the first annual set of Veteran Hometown Hero banners on the decorative light posts along the Colonial Beach Boardwalk to be displayed Summer 2022 (Target date July 4th) until Veteran’s Day.  Since there are only 14 decorative boardwalk posts, nominations will go into a random lottery for selection.

Nomination is FREE; however, by submitting this form, you are committing to be able to sponsor the banner printing cost if your nomination is drawn from the lottery. 14 unique veterans will be selected, if any duplicate is randomly chosen by the code generator only the first nomination will be qualified and selected. All submissions must be able to provide a high resolution or original photograph of the veteran in uniform and $120 sponsorship donation to cover printing costs.

Nominations will be open until May 29th, 2022.  Lottery selection will be announced May 30th, at the Memorial Day service at the Cannon.

Submit application form digitally and send photo to holiver@colonialbeachva.net or submit at Town Hall 315 Douglas Avenue ATTENTION: Veteran Banner 2022. Contact Town Clerk Heather Oliver or Mayor Robin Schick for further questions or details.
